  15. <p>     RECOVERING. GARRETT MORRIS, 57, actor; from gunshot wounds;
  16. in Los Angeles. An alumnus of the first Saturday Night Live
  17. cast, Morris was approached by two men in L.A.'s violence-prone
  18. South Central neighborhood. The pair demanded money. When Morris
  19. insisted he had none, they opened fire with a 9-mm handgun.
  20. Rushed to a hospital in critical condition with arm and chest
  21. wounds, Morris underwent emergency surgery. He is expected to
  22. recover and return to his job as a regular on the Fox network's
  23. Martin.
